Schedule a Call

Colecta is currently welcoming new clients on a first-come, first-served basis. To view available barrels, you’ll need to schedule a call with our expert team.

Barrel Reservation

The ownership journey begins by requesting a barrel reservation through the Colecta platform. Due to limited supply and high demand, reservations for popular distilleries are often allocated quickly.

Payment & Transfer

Once payment for your barrel reservation is received, Colecta will issue official ownership documents. Your ownership certificate provides full legal rights to your barrel.

Secure Storage

All purchased barrels are stored securely at the distillery or an approved third-party facility. To comply with regulations, full barrels remain in these facilities until they are bottled.

Aging Tequila

The tequila now ages in the barrel from Blanco (0-2 months) to Reposado (2 months - 1year) to Anejo (1-3 years) through to Extra Anejo (3 years onwards). Some collectors continue to rest and age the tequila for more than 3 years adding more complexity and character to the tequila.

Visitation & Sampling

Many of our distillery and warehousing partners offer the option to visit your barrel in person. Additionally, most barrels can be sampled, with samples shipped to you for a nominal fee.

Trading & Resale

You can list your barrel for resale at any time within the Colecta marketplace, allowing you to capitalize on your collection at anytime.

Bottling

Owning a barrel gives you control over when it’s bottled. Colecta can facilitate the design, packaging, and legally compliant shipping of your bottles. For clients interested in commercial sales, Colecta ensures compliance with all necessary regulations.
